Job Details

The role of the Parts Person is to manage Shop inventory to ensure efficient operations.  This position has complete control over the efficiency of a location's inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Keep parts room stocked with required parts
  • Understands the schedule and what parts are necessary to accomplish the schedule through parts work station
  • Order special order parts
  • Issuing and paying Purchase Orders
  • Review repair orders and ensure parts are charged out
  • Complete cycle counts
  • Identify and return obsolescent inventory
  • Complete core returns and process credits
  • Manage minimum and maximum points
  • Manage shop supplies
  • Perform inventory counts
  • Complete miscellaneous charge outs
  • Assist with answering phones

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 graduate
  • Parts Technician Journeyman certification is considered an asset
  • Truck and trailer parts knowledge is required
  • Ability to look up and source parts from multiple vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment; exercise good judgement and common sense and conduct him/herself in a professional manner
  • Self motivated
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Computer keyboarding skills and a basic understanding of computer business systems is required
  • Must be physically fit and of reasonable strength and endurance to perform the duties required in a tanker trailer shop operation
  • Safe and professional work practices are mandatory
